Project overview

LayoffHub.ai is a data platform that tracks layoffs, WARN Act notices and industry-level workforce changes in real time. Businesses, analysts and job seekers use it to see what is happening in the job market as it happens, not weeks later.

We built the whole platform end to end: UI/UX, backend architecture, data ingestion pipelines, an analytics engine, interactive dashboards, authentication and an anonymous community module. The system processes real-time layoff datasets, generates insights and presents them through fast, interactive visualisations.

Problem, solution
and outcome

The problem: there was no central place to monitor real-time layoffs, WARN Act reports and workforce changes by industry. Existing sources were slow and scattered, and they offered little or no analytics.

The solution: we engineered LayoffHub.ai from the ground up with React, Django, PostgreSQL, Tailwind, D3.js and Docker. Users get a live Layoff Terminal, a global map, company details, hiring intelligence, a personal “My Risk” score, a Job Coach, reports and a WARN Act compliance watch. Macro signals such as interest rates, jobless claims, JOLTS and consumer confidence sit alongside the layoff data.

The outcome: a scalable, data-rich platform that processes thousands of data points automatically, loads 3× faster and works smoothly on every device.

Built for heavy data
and fast decisions

Every screen was optimised for performance and heavy data operations, from the scrolling breaking-news ticker to the 30-day, 90-day, 12-month and 3-year views of the terminal. People who were just laid off get data-backed answers on recovery timelines, safe industries, hiring hotspots and in-demand skills.

We identified the layoff, WARN Act and macroeconomic data sources and designed how they would be collected, cleaned and connected.

We designed a terminal-style interface with dashboards, a global map and interactive charts that keep complex data readable on any screen.

We built ingestion pipelines and an analytics engine in Django and PostgreSQL, exposed through scalable, secure APIs and deployed with Docker.

We developed the React and Tailwind frontend with D3.js visualisations, authentication and the anonymous community module.

We optimised queries and rendering for 3× faster loads, tested on every device and launched at layoffhub.io.
